KoKoPang Terms of Service
KoKoPang Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 7, 2026
Correction and service improvement notice, September 7, 2026: this revision clarifies existing social-account linking and inquiry processing, and permits video viewing without optional analytics consent. It introduces no new payment obligation or refund restriction.
Article 1 Purpose, Scope, and Company Information
These Terms set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of KoKoPang Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) and its Members in connection with the use of the KoKoPang website, mobile web, applications, learning content, pronunciation assessment, learning reports, product purchases and delivery, payments, customer support, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
If applicable law or a separate agreement between a Member and the Company provides terms more favorable to the Member than these Terms, those terms will prevail. A separate agreement between an Institutional Member and the Company will take precedence with respect to that institution, but it may not restrict mandatory rights under applicable law or the rights of data subjects.

Article 2 Definitions
- “Member” means an Individual Member or Institutional Member who agrees to these Terms and enters into a service agreement with the Company.
- “Individual Member (B2C)” means an adult parent or legal representative who registers in their own name and manages use of the Services by a child under their protection and supervision. The child is not an independent contracting party.
- “Institutional Member (B2B)” means an educational institution, or its duly authorized representative, that contracts with or is approved by the Company to operate accounts for branches or institutions, directors or administrators, teachers or instructors, and students.
- “Student Account” means a learning account issued and managed by an Institutional Member under its lawful responsibility.
- “Content” means learning materials provided or generated through the Services, including videos, images, audio, sentences, questions, games, tracing materials, pronunciation assessment results, reports, and textbooks.
- “Paid Services” means products or services provided by the Company for consideration, including recurring subscriptions, fixed-term or one-time passes, and products that include textbooks.
Article 3 Service Agreement and Accounts
A service agreement is formed when a user provides the required information on the registration screen, agrees to these Terms, and the Company accepts the application. Institutional Members may be subject to additional institution verification, administrator approval, or separate contracting procedures. The Company may reject an application or request supplemental information if it involves false or misappropriated information, technical impediments, a violation of law, or a purpose clearly inconsistent with the Services.
Members must provide accurate information, securely manage their passwords and authentication methods, and promptly notify the Company if they become aware of identity theft or unauthorized use.
An Individual Member may allow only a child whom the Member is authorized to protect and supervise to use the Services, and must manage registration, payment, settings, and withdrawal. An Institutional Member must provide legally required notices, obtain consent or another lawful basis necessary to issue Student Accounts, and grant or revoke permissions according to each person's affiliation and role. Institutional personnel may not access student information beyond their own institution or assigned authority.
Use of Social Login Accounts
New registration through a social provider such as Kakao, Google, Apple, or Naver is available only to Individual Members (B2C). An existing B2C or B2B account must first sign in with its fixed KoKoPang ID and password and complete any required first-sign-in procedure. It may then link or unlink a provider in My Page only after current-password reauthentication and express consent, and may use that linked identity for later sign-in.
The Company identifies a linked identity only by the exact combination of provider and the subject identifier assigned to KoKoPang. A provider email is never used to automatically sign in, automatically link, or merge an existing account. Recovery or recall of an institutional or Student Account remains separate from social email and follows the institutional account procedure.
A new Kakao Sync user must separately agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy and can create only a new B2C account after required consent and verified-email checks. A Member may unlink a provider in My Page and must first retain another login method, including the fixed ID and password for a B2B account.
Article 4 Provision, Modification, and Suspension of the Services
Depending on the Member type, purchase status, and institutional approval, the Company provides learning content; assignments, progress, scores, points, and reports; pronunciation assessment and AI learning assistance; account and class management; purchases and delivery of products and passes; notifications; and customer support. Specific product composition, period of use, supported devices, available Content, and prices are as displayed in the Services or on the purchase screen.
The Company may modify the Services for quality improvement, security, maintenance, content reorganization, termination of a partnership, or compliance with law. If the essential substance of a Paid Service is changed to the Member's disadvantage, the Company will provide reasonable advance notice of the change and available compensation or cancellation methods.
Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance where practicable. If the Services are suspended due to urgent security measures, communications failures, disasters, or other circumstances that make advance notice impracticable, the Company will explain the reason and impact promptly after restoration. If the Company terminates a Paid Service, it will take measures required by law for the remaining period, such as providing an alternative, extending the period of use, or issuing a refund.
Article 5 Paid Services, Recurring Payments, and Delivery
Before payment, the Company clearly displays the product name, material features, period of use, total price, payment method, time of supply, cancellation and refund conditions, whether payment recurs and at what interval, the next scheduled payment date, and how to cancel. Optional items are not preselected, and payment is processed only after the Member's explicit confirmation.
A recurring payment renews at the interval and price displayed on the purchase screen. A Member may cancel a recurring payment before the next payment through My Page or customer support, and the cancellation will apply from the next billing cycle. The Company will not make cancellation substantially more difficult or unnecessarily more complicated than registration.
If the Company intends to increase a recurring payment or convert a free service into a paid service, it will provide advance notice of the change, its effective time, and the cancellation method, and obtain the Member's explicit consent. General consent given at registration or a failure to respond will not be treated as consent to a future price increase or conversion to a paid service.
When an external payment provider processes a payment, the Company handles only the payment approval result and information necessary to verify the transaction. A payment may be declined because of payment-provider maintenance, failed authentication, or abnormal-transaction detection, and no amount that was not actually approved will be charged.
A Member ordering a product that includes a textbook or learning kit must provide the correct recipient, contact information, and delivery address. If delivery is delayed, the Company will explain the reason and the available cancellation or alternative-delivery options. The Company will bear exchange or refund costs for damaged, misdelivered, or defective products as required by applicable law.
Article 6 Withdrawal, Termination, and Refunds
A Member may withdraw from a purchase within seven days after receiving a written or electronic copy of the contract terms. If the goods or Content begin to be supplied later, the period is calculated from the date the supply begins.
If goods or Services are supplied differently from their description, advertising, or the contract, the Member may withdraw within three months after supply or within 30 days after the Member knew or could have known of the discrepancy.
Even where the supply of digital Content has begun or another statutory restriction on withdrawal applies, the Company may limit withdrawal only to the extent that it clearly disclosed the restriction before payment and took the measures required by applicable law. Rights relating to a divisible portion of Content whose supply has not begun are not restricted.
If an amount must be returned following a valid withdrawal or termination, the Company will cancel the original payment or issue a refund within the period required by applicable law. The Company bears the return cost when a product differs from its description, advertising, or the contract, and will pay statutory late-payment compensation if it delays a refund without legitimate reason.
Early termination of recurring payments and continuous transactions, deductions for portions already used, return of delivered products, and compensation for service outages are governed by applicable law, the Consumer Dispute Resolution Standards, and the conditions clearly displayed at the time of purchase. Company policies and payment-provider procedures do not restrict a Member's statutory withdrawal or refund rights.
Article 7 AI Pronunciation Assessment and Member Materials
Pronunciation assessment and AI learning features are auxiliary functions that automatically analyze voice or learning records to provide transcription, pronunciation and fluency scores, error guidance, or learning assistance. Results may vary depending on accent, speaking speed, background noise, the device, and network conditions.
AI results are learning references and will not be used as the sole basis for an official grade, qualification, admission decision, or another decision that materially affects the rights or obligations of a Member or student. A Member may request confirmation of a result or human review through customer support or an institutional representative. The handling and retention of voice and learning information are governed by the Privacy Policy.
Rights in voice recordings, images, inquiry attachments, or learning materials that a Member is legally entitled to use remain with the Member or the original rights holder. The Member grants the Company a non-exclusive license only to store, transmit, transform, display, and back up the materials as necessary to provide the Services. The license lasts only as long as necessary to provide the relevant feature and satisfy legal retention obligations. The Company will obtain separate optional consent before using Member materials for advertising or training a general-purpose AI model.
Article 8 Intellectual Property and Prohibited Conduct
Rights in the software, trademarks, designs, compilations, and Content provided by the Company or a lawful rights holder belong to the Company or that rights holder. A Member may use Content only for personal learning or education by the contracted institution and may not reproduce, distribute, sell, publicly transmit, collect in bulk, or use it commercially without the Company's prior permission.
Members must not engage in any of the following:
- Registering false information, misappropriating another person's account, personal information, or payment method, or bypassing authentication or approval procedures
- Selling or lending an account, sharing it beyond the permitted scope, or sharing an institutional account outside the institution
- Repeatedly obtaining free trials, avoiding payment, seeking fraudulent refunds, or otherwise using the Services improperly
- Undermining Service stability through malware, excessive automated requests, crawling, reverse engineering, or similar conduct
- Infringing the personal information, copyright, portrait rights, trademarks, or other rights of the Company or a third party
- Entering or transmitting illegal information, material harmful to children, insults, threats, or another person's confidential information
Article 9 Use Restrictions, Appeals, and Account Withdrawal
If a Member violates law or these Terms, or causes account misuse, an abnormal payment transaction, a security threat, infringement of another person's rights, or disruption of the Services, the Company may issue a warning, restrict features, suspend use, or terminate the agreement in proportion to the violation.
As a rule, the Company will provide advance notice of the reason, scope, and duration of the measure and how to appeal, and will give the Member an opportunity to explain. If advance notice is impracticable because immediate action is needed to prevent further harm, respond to an urgent security issue, or comply with a legal request, the Company may act first and notify the Member promptly afterward. A Member may appeal through customer support, and the Company will promptly restore access if it determines that the restriction was incorrect.
A Member may request termination of the service agreement and account withdrawal at any time through My Page or customer support. Pending orders, recurring payments, and Paid Services must be reviewed and cancelled separately from account withdrawal, and the Company will provide the necessary cancellation and refund paths during the withdrawal process. Information about a withdrawn Member will be deleted under the Privacy Policy, except that records required by law will be stored separately. Student Accounts may be subject to return, transfer, or deletion procedures based on the institutional agreement and lawful instructions.
When a Member unlinks a social identity or withdraws from KoKoPang, the Company may request disconnection from the provider. Reconnection requires current-password reauthentication of the KoKoPang account, new provider authentication, and express linking consent.
Article 10 Personal Information and Notices
The Company complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable law. The Privacy Policy discloses the purposes and categories of processing, retention periods, third-party provision, processing entrustment, overseas transfers, user rights, and security measures.
The Company may use a Member's registered email address or phone number, push notifications, the notification center, or Service announcements to provide information necessary to operate the Services, including contract performance, payments, security, outages, account measures, and changes to terms or policies. Members must keep their contact details current.
Advertising information, such as discounts or events, is sent only through a channel for which separate optional consent has been given, and the Member may opt out at any time. General matters common to multiple Members may be announced through the Services, but payments, account restrictions, and material adverse changes will be individually notified by an available method.
Article 11 Responsibilities of the Company and Members
The Company complies with law and these Terms and takes reasonable security and operational measures to provide the Services reliably. If a Member suffers damage due to the Company's intentional misconduct or negligence, the Company will be liable under applicable law.
The Company may not be liable for damage caused by an event that the Company cannot reasonably control and for which it has no intent or negligence, such as a natural disaster, widespread communications-network failure, or a problem with the Member's device or network. The Company does not exclude liability for its intentional misconduct or gross negligence, infringement of personal information, or harm to life or body merely because a Service is free or an external provider experienced an outage.
If a Member causes damage to the Company or a third party by violating these Terms or carelessly managing the Member's account or device, the Member is responsible to the extent attributable to the Member.
Article 12 Amendments and Dispute Resolution
The Company may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. When it does, the Company will provide advance notice of the effective time, substance, and reasons in a manner that Members can review, and will individually notify Members by a reasonable method of material or adverse changes. The Company will obtain explicit consent where separate consent is required by law and will not treat a Member's silence alone as consent to an adverse change.
A Member who does not agree to an amendment may terminate the service agreement before it takes effect. Rights relating to transactions already entered into and Paid Services already purchased are protected under applicable law and the conditions in effect at the time of purchase.
Members may submit questions, complaints, or appeals to info@kokopang.com or 0507-1367-0581. The Company and the Member will endeavor to resolve disputes amicably and, where appropriate, may use mediation procedures offered by relevant bodies, including the Korea Consumer Agency, the Electronic Documents and Electronic Transactions Dispute Mediation Committee, and the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute cannot be resolved through consultation or mediation, jurisdiction will not be fixed exclusively in a particular region but will be determined under the Civil Procedure Act and other applicable law.
